Do Appetite Suppressants Really Work?

June 2nd, 2011

In order to lose weight, most people need to cut back on calories. There are those few lucky people who have such a high metabolism that they don’t need to watch what they eat, but most of us have to deal with consequences. You’ve seen appetite suppressants in weight loss pills, powders, and maybe even looked into foods that you can eat that will “trick” your stomach into thinking you are full. You are probably wondering if these work. The answer is yes, and we’ll tell you why and how.

• Chemicals are released in the brain, telling the body that the stomach is full, even when it is not. Some companies compare this to a switch in the brain. Some call it a chemical reaction. No matter how is it described, it refers to the reaction of the brain to the false information given to it.
The fewer calories you consume, the more weight you will lose. Eating less, especially if you maintain an active lifestyle, produces fast results. If you add the intake of appetite suppressants to diet and exercise, the results will be even more impressive.

• Many people eat socially or habitually. We have all wandered into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator out of boredom and snacked on something simply because it looked appealing. This kind of eating is terrible for those who are trying to lose weight. When taking an effective appetite suppressant, the thought of food doesn’t sound appealing.
• There are natural appetite suppressants, including proteins, fibers, and fats. These can also be found in many supplements.
• After eating less for even a relatively short period of time, the stomach reduces in size significantly. It’s not hard to stretch it out again, so it is very important to not overeat at this point. Listen to your body. When it is telling you that it is full, stop eating and distract yourself. Many physicians believe that much of the overeating that occurs is the result of habit or social dining.

Now that you know the many benefits of appetite suppressants, you are ready to jump start your diet. When considering hunger curbing supplements, it is important to buy the best diet pills for your money. That is why we recommend Fenphedrine. It combines powerful appetite suppressants with ingredients designed to burn fat and increase metabolism. To try Fenphedrine today, click here.

Weight Loss Pill Ingredients

May 31st, 2011

weight loss
Diet pills don’t work magically. If weight loss supplements are going to be effective, they need to approach the problem in scientifically sound and clinically proven ways. Otherwise, they aren’t going to get the job done. This is why it is so important to review the formula of any product before making your purchase. To help you know what to look for on a diet supplement’s label, we have listed some of the most effective weight loss ingredients that we’ve seen below:

Glucomannan
This compound has been noted for its ability to suppress appetite. Relying on its bulk-forming fibers, supplements can use glucommanan to promote feelings of fullness and satisfaction. The ingredient also delays gastric emptying which helps user feel full longer, cutting down the urge to snack between meals. This limits caloric intake and helps people store less fat.

Super Citrimax
This unusual stimulant can increase fat burning metabolic processes and suppress appetite without adversely affecting the central nervous system. It’s also been clinically proven to inhibit the conversion of carbohydrates into fat.

African Mango
This increasingly popular extract has been shown to burn dramatic amounts of fat. It has proven to effectively help people lose weight even among subjects who make no changes to their food intake or upping their exercise regimen.

Green Tea
This antioxidant has been proven to boost energy levels and increase the metabolism’s ability to burn off excess calories. Studies have shown that even modest doses can help subjects expend hundreds of more calories over the course of their day.

Caffeine Anhydrous
Perhaps the most ubiquitous ingredient in weight loss pills, caffeine is used frequently because it works. This common stimulant has been proven to spark thermogenic reactions, throwing the metabolism into a fat-burning craze that eats up calories and sears through fat stores.

Fucoxanthin
This seaweed extract is strangely adept at helping the body synthesize more thermongenin, a fat-burning protein produced inside the mitochondria. Thermogenin seems especially effective at burning fat in the abdomen.
apidextra
Very few supplements will contain all of these ingredients. Most supplements may not have any of these. But one diet pill that we found that includes all of them is a product called Apidextra. Leveraging the power of its well-rounded formula, Apidextra promises to help you lose 5 pounds a week while taking it or your money back. To fast track your path to weight loss, buy Apidextra here.

How Do Diet Pills Work?

April 22nd, 2011

diet pills
Diet Pills are marketed on potential. They show tiny women and buff men in their advertisements as a “what you could look like if you use our diet pill” strategy. The truth is however, these models have probably never had to use a diet pill or weight loss supplement in their lives. They have been “blessed” with good genes and self-control. For the rest of us, the ones who probably won’t ever grace the cover or a fitness magazine or have our pictures posted on a supplement website, will these diet pills help us lose weight or are they just a money making hoax? The answer is yes to both.

How do diet pills work?

Weight loss supplements and diet pills contain powerful ingredients, chemical and natural, that affect the processes in our bodies that can change our weight. There are diet pills that will block the absorption of some of the fat you consume, some that will speed up your metabolism, some that burn fat and calories, some that boost your energy level, etc. but the key to all of these pills and supplements is the type of ingredient used and similarly important, the amount of the ingredient that is used. Study after study has been conducted that shows that a particular (usually relatively high) amount of an active ingredient needs to be used in order to make the pill or supplement effective. This is where the problems lie.

The way that diet pill and weight loss supplement manufacturers make their money is by “dressing” their labels. This has to do with marketing a certain amount of an active ingredient on their label or within their ingredient contents but then not being careful to make sure that the pill or supplement actually contains the amount that they said it would. This is how the manufacturers scrimp on ingredients and save on money.

Are diet pills safe?

Because diet pills and weight loss supplements don’t have to be approved by the FDA (due to an act passed in 1994 that consider these supplements a food product and not a drug) there is no real regulation as to what manufactures say they put into their product and what is actually in there.

How should I find the right one for me?

It is important to find a trusted company that will actually deliver what they promised. Some products offer a money back guarantee if you’re not satisfied with the results you’re getting. These guarantees show that the company believes in their product enough to promise its affectivity, and that they are probably delivering what they claim to be delivering. When looking into a diet pill or weight loss supplement research the active ingredients and find out how much of each ingredient is supposed to deliver the results you’re looking for. Then compare labels. If you need a pill that contains 350 g of African Mango and the supplement that you’re looking at only offers 100 g then you know you need to keep looking. This applies to all weight loss supplements and diet pills though, doing the research before you make a purchase is ultimately going to save you time and energy as you find and begin using weight loss pills that actually work.

Is L-Carnitine A Fat Burner?

October 1st, 2009

L-Carnitine is ultimately an amino acid, and they claim it does everything from reducing cellulite to actually burning fat, because ultimately speaking, cellulite is actually a thin layer of fat right under the skin.  But realistically speaking, the only proven way to get rid of cellulite is to exercise or sometimes to use coffee grounds in a scrub.  So is their fat burning claim legitimate, or is it just myth like their claim about cellulite?

This being said, is l-carnitine a fat burner?  That’s a more complicated question than you might think.  The heart is dependent on l-carnitine, because quite frankly, l-carnitine helps in fat breakdown and obviously fat breakdown helps it to not buildup in the arteries and the heart.  Ideally, this would also mean it would break down fat around the body, right?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t extend that far.  It’s like some antioxidants.  By nature, antioxidants reduce cholesterol levels, because they attack plaque and fat buildup around the heart, arteries, and otherwise areas involved with cholesterol.  But they do not actually burn fat, they don’t flush fat out of the body, and otherwise.  L-carnitine works exactly the same way. It has the effect on the heart that you want, but it does not actually affect the fat around your body.  So too bad right?  But we move on to other good things in general terms.

Lose 10 Pounds Fast

September 29th, 2009

Losing 10 pounds can make a big difference in your weight loss results. This being said, there are hundreds of different ways to lose 10 pounds. 10 pounds could be easily around 5% of your weight or 10% if you’re really light. But then 10 pounds is obviously a bigger difference. This being said, if your goal is to ultimately speaking lose about 10 pounds, here are a few basic ways to do it.
1. You can stop drinking soda-not drinking soda almost immediately results in weight loss. This is the way it works. So if you really want to lose a few pounds and achieve greater results as well as enhancing your body’s ability to exercise properly, cut out the soda.
2. Start using a vegetarian day-yes, just one vegetarian day a week will help you to lose weight, improve your health, and drop 10 pounds. Obviously, having more vegetarian meals, vegetarian days, etc will make a bigger difference. But it’s not that big a difference if you just do it one day per week, and still you get bigger results.
3. Cut out the salad dressing or use a lower calorie salad dressing-yes, it’s small. But just cutting out those 50 calories or so can make a huge difference in your ability to lose weight
4. Use skim milk-skim milk is about 80 calories as opposed to the 150 calories in whole milk, one cup of each keep in mind. But all in all, saving this 70 calories can easily help you to end up dropping 10 pounds.
5. Cut out the muffin top-or for that matter the sandwich top. When you cut out this top, you cut out a number of calories, especially with bigger sandwiches, and while this is definitely not something you want to do regularly, you can also try folding one side in half to make a smaller sandwich.

Coffee As A Weight Loss Aid

August 30th, 2009

Many people would argue that coffee is not good for weight loss.  For each person this is different, you can drink a few cups of coffee and still be successful about your weight loss.  There are a few tips that you should follow is you are going to allow coffee to be a part of your diet.

You should avoid the fancy coffee shop drinks as those are very high in calories and fat.  When making your coffee at home limit your sugar and cream amounts that you put into your coffee. If you go out for coffee avoid the extras that go along with the coffee (donuts, muffins etc)

Coffee can be beneficial.  It reduces the risk for Type 2 diabetes.  Coffee will give more energy for a tougher workout.  It will help speed up your metabolism.   Coffee can also help curb craving and your appetite

As long as watch how much coffee you drink in a day, and limit to what you put in your coffee there is no harm in using it as an aid to your weight loss.  However if you are going to use coffee to give you more energy for your workout, you should drink a cup, black at least 20-30 minutes before working out to get the full effect.

Exercise Tips

August 6th, 2009

There are major tips to losing weight and exercising to lose weight in particular.  For starters, the longer the better.  Yes, the generally accepted idea is that you should exercise for 20-30 minutes to get the maximum benefits for your time.  But realistically speaking, the more the better according to more recent studies.

Second, never exercise on a full stomach.  Frankly, you can.  But it can cause serious cramps and make you feel sick in general.  Eating before is fine.  But just don’t eat until you’re full is the basic idea.  Eat small amounts if you are going to eat right before.

Finally, use caution.  Yes, you want to lose weight, you’re motivated.  But don’t overdo it.  You won’t be doing yourself any favors realistically speaking, especially when you hurt yourself and as a result can’t even exercise for a while.  That really doesn’t help anybody in the grand scheme of things.  So these are all basic things you can do to help yourself to lose more weight and get the maximum benefits of your exercise.  It also helps of course to do the right exercise for your needs.  It has to be something you enjoy to start and then something that is actually burning calories and working with your body type.

Acupuncture For Weight Loss

July 30th, 2009

They have quite literally started using acupuncture for weight loss.  Sometimes they stick a small safety pin in your ear in certain areas that can get infected and you have to watch therefore quite closely.  But it can also be in other areas and only in clinical settings.  They claim that by targeting certain pressure points that have to do mostly with appetite, they can help you to change your lifestyle and lose weight over time.

It’s starting to seem like everything promotes weight loss.  What’s next, greasy foods?  But they have conducted more than 30 studies on acupuncture actually in relation to weight loss.  They found that body weight was reduce perhaps due to a certain mindset that was achieved because they thought it would succeed both in sham treatments and in legitimate treatments.

So if the sham treatments are technically working in those studies, does that really mean anything at all?  Or maybe they just didn’t study it for a long enough period of time or check up on long term results.  They say it may trigger higher levels of serotonin and dopamine which could suppress appetite.  But there are no sure  bets or otherwise on this particular idea.

Rowing For Exercise

July 6th, 2009

They have literally been putting out rowing machines or other arm related machines for years.  There’s one at my gym that allows you to cycle with your arms instead of your legs, which makes more sense for those that use it, because they are generally in wheelchairs, but they still of course prefer to stay in shape, which is awesome especially considering half of those with functioning legs are not that dedicated, especially if we lost the use of our legs.

Now rowing machines generally require that you also use your legs to push out.  But if you were to lock the seat in place, you could change it.  Now the logic behind it is partly that if you see the rowers in competitions who do it quite regularly, they are in excellent shape, having both little fat and greater muscle mass and strength.  So if you use this, you too could have this effect, if of course you do it right.  It was more of a fad earlier on, but it has been used lately too.

It gives you actually a pretty descent cardiovascular workout, depending partly on the resistance and how fast you go at the same time.  I’m a wimp, so I like lower resistance.  But it also allows me to go faster when I should use greater resistance and go slower.  But I like the faster pace that gets my heart rate up to some degree.  But some would actually tell you that it’s better than running or biking, who knew.

Celiac Disease

July 3rd, 2009

Celiac disease is a genetic disease and is generally known as the inability of the small intestine to absorb the nutrients from food duet o damage caused by gluten laden products that destroy the lining of the small intestine.  Glutens can literally be found anywhere such as flour, barley, wheats, and oats, and it is also found in some medicines, cosmetics, and even vitamins.

If you eat a gluten free diet, you can cause the symptoms and problems to disappear without medicine or otherwise.  The problem is eating that gluten free diet for many.  However, if you do eat glutens with this particular disease, you will suffer from other problems and essentially it leads to malnutrition, stomach pain, stunted growth, dermatitis, mouth sores, stomach pain, swollen stomach, intermittent vomiting, diarrhea, pale and foul smelling stool, weight loss, and other manifestations of this severe type of allergy in some ways.

Generally speaking, it is genetic and it can occur at any time or at any age.  Even infants could have it.  At first, it might not be noticeable with an infant.  But when you start introducing gluten based foods, they may start to experience vomiting, diarrhea, and fall below normal weight standards for their age while also suffering severe malnutrition.  They generally suffer epilepsy, anemia, hepatitis, and stunted growth.  Now if you supplement with a gluten free diet and these go away, obviously you’ve found your problem.  But should you forget, the results can vary.
